The Karnataka State AIDS Cell works towards providing education, care, and support to persons with HIV/AIDS; and creating awareness about HIV/AIDS in partnership with NGOs. It runs a School Health Education Programme in government and private schools in conjunction with its partner NGOs in all the districts of Karnataka. It creates awareness on HIV/AIDS through posters and pamphlets in Kannada, especially for the rural areas. It has a national HIV/AIDS Helpline, which can be accessed at the Tel 1097.
