Details of Work

PCH is a project of Prison Fellowship India. Its primary work is to provide rehabilitation and counselling for prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families, to sensitise society towards the plight of prisoners and their families. It has a home for about 30 children of prisoners and crime victims whose parents are serving sentences in various central and sub-jails all over Karnataka. It provides education up to Std 10, and helps the children pursue higher studies or gain vocational skills. Parents are encouraged to take their children back once they have served their sentence so that another child in need can be accommodated. It has educational scholarships for 100 children living in their own homes. It also organises recreation and sports for the children. It has homes in the five southern states that serve about 500 children.
