Details of Work

SIVUS is an association of parents, professionals and persons with disability. It sets up group homes across the country where persons with disability are trained in independent living skills. It conducts leadership and nature awareness camps, and organises sports activities. SIVUS is a Swedish acronym for Social Individ Via Utreckling I Samverkan (Socio-Individual Development through Co-operation). It is based on the group dynamic method that believes group work in small, fixed and democratic groups has a positive influence on an individual's development. This method is used to integrate persons with disability.
