Details of Work

KPAMRC is an association of parents of children with disability, with members from across the state. It offers teacher training programmes, including a one-year diploma in Special Education, with specialisations in mental retardation, autism, and specific learning disabilities. It assists parents in setting up vocational centres, and disseminates information on various kinds of disability. It has referral and guidance facilities for diagnosis, intervention programmes, genetic and general counselling for children with disability, and financial planning guidance for parents to set up trust funds. It also plans to start an activity centre, group home, respite care centre and sheltered workshop.
