Details of Work

MSK is a pilot project of the government of India, with a primary focus on providing development programmes for rural women. It runs creches at the village level for younger children so that their siblings are free to enrol in formal school; and it also runs 300 non-formal education centres in six districts for school drop-outs. At the district level, it runs Mahila Shikshana Kendras, which are residential centres for girls. The centres provide tutoring to pass formal school exams, as well as vocational training, health education and gender sensitivity training.
