Details of Work

NIE is a special educational programme of the Times of India. It uses the newspaper as a real-life teaching tool to provide children with a holistic education. It works in 70 schools in Bangalore, and conducts workshops with experts from diverse fields covering a range of academic and extracurricular topics from the sciences to social studies, career counselling and personality development. It has a special weekly page, Offspring, in the newspaper, which provides a forum for expression and exchange among its members. It organises several events such as theatre, painting and quiz festivals, tree planting and nature camps. It works in four cities reaching more than 1,00,000 children.
