Details of Work

Suvidya is an educational resource centre. It works primarily with teacher trainers and rural teachers in the area of maths, science and language teaching. It focuses on developing low-cost and innovative teaching materials that allow children to learn concepts in an experiential way. It conducts workshops for teacher trainers with the DPEP* in maths education. It trains teachers in 40 government schools in Raichur in language education, where it provides materials; and it has also set up a resource centre. It has workshops for teachers in English medium schools, sponsored by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication. It has developed a low-cost, self-learning geometry kit, two kits for primary and high school maths, and a language kit in Kannada. It works in four districts of Karnataka.
