Dr A R Vasavi is a social anthropologist. She has conducted field research on community-school linkages in rural Gujarat. She has been involved in an extensive, multi-state study of community-school interlinks, and the development of outreach programmes to enhance and establish schools as key institutions. Her research interests include contemporary culture, the sociology of education, and rural societies.
