Details of Work

iAct was set up by the Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Educational and Cultural Trust as a finishing school for teachers. iACT lays emphasis on developing skills which are not emphasised in a regular teacher training institute. Some of the areas of teaching that it covers are non-verbal communication, voice modulation, designing curriculum, and creativity and innovation. Two courses that are special to this institute are technology as a tool and counselling. The latter trains teachers to identify children with special needs such as dyslexia, and equips them to handle special needs. iACT offers both full time and short-term training programmes for fresh graduates/post graduates with or without an education degree. The diploma in creative teaching is a 10-month programme for which admission is based on a written test and an interview. It also conducts in-house orientation programmes, workshops, and customised training programmes for institutions based on their requirements. A counselling centre for students, parents and teachers offers assistance in many areas such as psychometric testing, career guidance and aptitude, and improving study skills.
