Details of Work

Dr Swaminath is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in child psychiatry. He works with a school for tribal children in HD Kote, Mysore district, run by the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement. He provides psychiatric support to children who have behavioural or emotional disorders, and helps children develop their social skills through theatre and games. He has started a counselling centre at the school, and also assists in making learning more interesting so that the children continue to remain in school. He plans to set up a life skills education programme in this school with the help of NIMHANS*.
