Kadambari

Aim To spread awareness and understanding of the arts, in order to make for better, well-rounded human beings rooted in their own culture.

Details of Work

Kadambari works towards promoting education through the performing arts, fine arts and crafts, particularly among children. It has conducted several workshops on theatre, music, dance and other art forms using a holistic approach to not merely impart skills, but also sensitise children to the world around them. The workshops focus on the relationships between art form and lifestyle in the context in which it evolved. Children work intensively in the workshops, which culminate in a public performance. The workshops are conducted by resource persons who are experts in their field, or in collaboration with other organisations. It conducts week-long, "back-to-roots" residential workshops to give children an opportunity to appreciate the relevance of art in the everyday lives of people, through interaction with the local community. It also organises seminars, exhibitions, performances, and appreciation courses.
