Details of Work

Mr Shekhar Gemini is a teacher and Hindustani music consultant. He has taught music at the Valley School, Uttarkashi, and at two schools in Bangalore. He works with children, including gifted children who show a high musical aptitude. He believes in teaching children the kind of music they enjoy and then gradually introducing an appreciation of the elements of classical music. He has experimented with the use of music and drama in teaching subjects in the regular curriculum, and uses music and art to understand the emotional make-up of a child. He has also worked with children with special needs. He is interested in producing educational and recreational audio cassettes for children.
