Details of Work

Mithra Foundation works with children of different ages and settings. It runs an early cognitive stimulation programme for children from the age of 4-6 years. Children are given training in language and motor skills, along with activities for social and emotional development. Children are also given a meal. It also organises check-ups. It has a supplementary programme to enhance their learning capacity and address emotional and behavioural problems. For slum children, it provides individual stimulation programes using creative teaching methods. For child labourers, it teaches literacy and numeracy, and provides recreational and vocational opportunities. For children with special needs, it provides relief and rehabilitation services by networking with others. It conducts bi-annual workshops for care givers of children with special needs, and children at high risk. It meets regularly with parents and teachers to discuss issues related to children.
