Details of Work

Mythri has several programmes in partnership with the urban poor, citizen's groups and the government. `Nethra' for street children, has two drop-in centres and 12 contact points. `Neethi' promotes advocacy and child rights issues through workshops, training programmes and protest strategies. `Parivarthane' builds awareness about injustice. `Nischai' offers non-formal education, credit unions, housing and sanitation in nine slums. `Waste Wise' and 'Peoples' Agenda for Civic Engagement' address issues related to the urban environment and local governance. Mythri set up two preschools in the JC Road area covering three slums. The centres serve the nutritional and educational needs of about 80 children .
