Details of Work

SRMAB has a free school for visually impaired children up to Std 10, with hostel facilities for boys and girls. It organises sports and cultural activities, including dance and theatre. It provides vocational training for disabled youth in computers, horticulture, and industrial skills. It has two community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programmes for persons with disabilities, in Kanakapura and Malavalli taluka, and Kodihalli Hobli. They provide non-formal and integrated education, and have awareness programmes and assessment camps. They also provide disability aids and vocational training, and offer home training for parents. They assist in forming parent support groups and village development councils. In Kanakapura, it provides education, therapy and vocational training for children with mental retardation and hearing disabilities. It networks at local, national and international levels.
