Details of Work

AIF has a Digital Equalizer (DE) programme which provides under-privileged children, aged 12-15 years, access to technology. The 55 DE centres in 6 cities are involved in providing computers, training teachers, internet connectivity and cross-culture collaboration. The centres are located in underprivileged schools that are identified based on the low fee structure, basic infrastructure and the motivation level. Teachers are trained and are provided instructional tools in the form of curriculum software. AIF encourages teachers and students to participate in collaborative projects done across countries thus promoting intercultural exchange. It supports the programme for three years after which the school bears the costs of connectivity.
