Details of Work

Eco-Watch works in the field of environment. It conducts camps on environment in schools. In 2001 it introduced the Green Teachers Workshop to train teachers about the importance of the environment. The two-day workshop is held every 4-5 months and covers about 30 government and private schools in Kolar, Tumkur and Bangalore. The teachers are made aware of the flora and fauna in their habitat. So far around 100 teachers and 75 schools have been covered. Eco-Watch plans to start a children s wing where school children will become members, and programmes will be held for them. Under its urban forestry programme, it has undertaken the afforestation of 100 acres in Bangalore. While planting, camps were held for high school children to teach them how to plant trees and nurture them. Eco-Watch also makes environment-based films.
