Details of Work

The DIETs were set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to enhance primary education. They support teacher training in all rural districts. ALL DIETs follow a standard organisational model with departments for teacher education and training, planning and management, research and evaluation, curriculum and materials development, educational technology and work experience education. The DIETs conduct training programmes for 10 to 15 days for teachers identified by the DPI*. Nearly 4000 teachers are trained every year.
