Dr Lata Hemchand is a clinical psychologist. She has a Ph D in student mental health from NIMHANS*. She was associated with an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) project on mental retardation, and has published a paper on Down's Syndrome. She has also worked with street and orphan children; and gives talks on the mental health of children at various schools. She has a clinical practice where she works with children with learning attention, emotional and behavioural disorders. She uses play and other therapy techniques along with the help of psychiatrists.
