children, including street children
Dr Jayashree Ramakrishna is a socio-cultural anthropologist working in public health education. She is particularly interested in child health, and has worked on preventive and social medicine in Nigeria, including the child-to-child approach to health education in schools, and community participation in primary health care. Her interest in issues concerning children and HIV/AIDS has included working with the NIMHANS* AIDS group, and a study on sexuality and the sexual behaviour of street children. She would like to network with social, medical and educational institutions to research the issue further; and she is particularly interested in qualitative methodologies and participatory research techniques that involve children in data collection.
