Details of Work

Ms K B Surekha is an artist who works with alternative media. She had her formal training at Shanthi Niketan, Calcutta, and has held several exhibitions of her work. She began her career in oil painting and printing and then moved to alternative media. She has used media including cardboard cartons and wire mesh to create four-dimensional works of art which allow the audience to participate in her work. She enjoys working with children, and has held workshops for them in different settings, such as the Bal Bhavan*. She has created permanent murals with the children, and designed sets for their school plays. She has also worked with children with special needs.
