IL&FS-ETS is the Education Technology and Training arm of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS), and is one of the pioneers in Technology enabled Learning in India. IL&FS-ETS has nationwide coverage with 9 branches and 16 program delivery locations all over India, impacting government and private schools. In Karnataka: IL&FS-ETS has been mandated by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and UNICEF with the task of providing support in design and implementation of the health and hygiene curriculum in primary schools at Raichur district as part of EVS education. IL&FS-ETS has developed multimedia subject content for 1,000 Government of Karnataka Schools (under the Mahiti Sindhu Project). The project also involved training of teachers for the use of the content developed IL&FS-ETS commissioned a mobile computer training lab, possibly the first of its kind in India, for Bangalore Municipal Corporation school teachers IL&FS-ETS is providing technology and e-learning support to the BITES project that envisages linking of educational institutions in Karnataka for promoting IT based skills amongst students IL&FS-ETS is also working with CRY (Child Rights and You) for the development of social awareness programs in schools. As part of its endeavor to enable schools to use ICT in education, IL&FS ETS has, along with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, developed the K-Yan, a Compact Media Center as a singular vehicle for delivering multi-media learning in classes in a cost effective fashion. The K-Yan combines the functions of a Multimedia Computer, Large Format Flat Television, DVD/VCD/CD Player, CD Writer, LCD Projector, Internet Surfing, Video Conferencing and Visual Audio System in a single compact unit. IL&FS ETS has partnered with a number of international and domestic organisations for conceptualisation, design, pedagogy and implementation of its educational programmes. A large team of professionals comprising educationists, trainers and subject experts work in the areas of pedagogical research, training and programme development.
